Dr. Yossi Sheffi

Professor Yossi Sheffi is Director of the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics (MIT CTL), and Director and Founder of the Master of Engineering in Logistics Program. He is a faculty member of the MIT Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, as well as the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society. 

He is an expert in systems optimization, risk analysis and supply chain management and is the author of a text book Urban Transportation Networks: Equilibrium Analysis with Mathematical Programming Methods (1985) and six management books: The Resilient Enterprise: Overcoming Vulnerability for Competitive Advantage (2005); Logistics Clusters: Delivering Value and Driving Growth (2012); The Power of Resilience: How the Best Companies Manage the Unexpected (2015); ); Balancing Green: When to Embrace Sustainability in Business (and When Not to) (2018); and The New (Ab)Normal: Reshaping Business and Supply Chain Strategy Beyond Covid-19 (2020). His sixth and latest book is A Shot in the Arm: How Science, Engineering, and Supply Chains Converged to Vaccinate the World (October 2021). 

Under his leadership, the MIT CTL has launched many educational, research, and industry/government outreach programs, including the MIT Master of Engineering in Logistics program in 1998, the MIT Master of Applied Sciences in Supply Chain Management, and the MIT on-line offering the MITx MicroMasters program in supply chain management. (Launched in 2016, it has enrolled more than 350,000 learners in 196 countries.)

Prof. Sheffi launched an international expansion of MIT CTL, establishing academic logistics and supply chain management centers around the world. These include the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program in Spain launched in 2003, the Center for Latin America Logistics Innovation launched in 2007, the Malaysia Center for Supply Chain Innovation launched in 2012, the Luxembourg Center of Logistics launched in 2015, and the Ningbo Supply Chain Institute in China launched in 2016. Collectively these centers operate as the MIT Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) global network which he leads.

Outside academia, Dr. Sheffi has consulted with numerous governments and leading manufacturing, retail and transportation enterprises all over the world. He has also founded or co-founded five successful companies: LogiCorp (acquired by Ryder in 1994); PTCG (acquired by Sabre in 1996); e-Chemicals (acquired by AspenTech in 2001); Logistics.com (acquired by Manhattan Associates in 2003), and Syncra Systems (acquired by Oracle in 2004).

Dr. Sheffi has been recognized in numerous ways in academic and industry forums, including the 1997 Distinguished Service Award given by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. In addition, he is a life fellow of Cambridge University’s Clare Hall College.

Sanjay Saini

Sanjay Saini is the Senior Director – One South East Asia – Supply Chain at Johnson & Johnson based in Singapore. He is accountable for Supply Chain for 10 markets in One J&J Southeast Asia [SEA] for all the businesses i.e. Consumer, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices and Vision Care. Key One J&J SEA markets are the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. Also, he is responsible for Planning, Customer Service, Warehousing and Distribution. In addition, he is responsible for Regional DC for Asia-Pacific for Medical Devices. Member of the One J&J SEA Regional Management Board with Supply Chain P&L responsibility. His direct reports are part of the Country Management Board leading Supply Chain.

Sanjay has strong leadership skills with a proven track record in Asia-Pacific Supply Chain Leadership Roles, at Regional and Country Management Board levels. More than 20 years of end-to-end supply chain experience in FMCG, Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, OTC and Vision Care. He has experience in working with diverse cultures – have worked out of India, Singapore and Thailand and have worked with all the 14 markets in Asia-Pacific region for more than 15 years. 

He led large PLAN, MAKE, SOURCE, DELIVER Organizations, multi-site multi-country internal and external manufacturing networks with 1000+ FTE, S&OP for Asia-Pacific Management Board, Demand and Supply Planning organizations at country and Asia-Pacific level and Project Management Office for Asia-Pacific driving Network Strategy, Capex Investment, Product Portfolio Management, New Product Launches and Cost Improvements. He has major capacity expansion projects leadership including multiple green field sites, IT Projects Leadership – BPCS, SAP; Led Project and Program management in Internet Technology Company and Process Excellence and Certified Six Sigma Green Belt and LEAN Black Belt.

Felix Faulhaber

She is Professor of Supply Chain Management and Director of the MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Royal Holloway University of London (UK) and regularly teaches on an adjunct basis at Universities around the world. As a Strategic Supply Chain Risk Expert, she provides consultancy, advisory and training to businesses that are undergoing business transformation to embrace change, build resilience, develop dynamic teams and prepare for future disruptions through customised solutions.

Omera works with organisations to inspire them to transform their processes. She brings both insight and sensitivity to companies facing the challenges of transition and develops effective tools and solutions that empower creative leadership to achieve their goals. 

She is a highly acclaimed speaker and is regularly invited as a keynote speaker and panellist at global conferences and corporate events. She is also the executive strategy advisor to Skill Dynamics, a high impact online training provider for corporates. Francisco Betti

Francisco Betti joined the World Economic Forum back in May 2015.  He is currently the Head of the Advanced Manufacturing Industry community and managing our global platform for Shaping the Future of Advanced Manufacturing and Production, which was launched by the World Economic Forum in 2017 upon request of world leading governments and companies. The platform is helping global leaders understand the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and advanced manufacturing technologies on production systems. 

Prior to joining the World Economic Forum, Francisco worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers SA in Geneva, Switzerland, primarily running management consulting projects for international organizations.

Dr. Michael de Jong-Douglas

Dr. Michael de Jong-Douglas is ESR’s Senior Managing Director. He is responsible for business development, new markets and new technology initiatives across the platform.

With over 23 years of experience in logistics real estate, de Jong-Douglas previously held leadership roles in Asia and Europe as deputy CEO/COO for Mapletree Logistics REIT; director of real estate for an opportunistic multi-family office; and various positions at Prologis, including regional head for Central Europe, head of property management for Europe and head of due diligence for continental Europe.

De Jong-Douglas has a PhD in urban planning and applied geography from Utrecht University and attended the Executive Development Program at Northwestern University. He also has an MBA, an MS in geography and a BS in public administration and planning.  In addition to his membership of RICS, ULI and ANREV, he has been licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore for REIT management.

Jamil Khan

Jamil Khan is an International Logistics Leader, bringing almost 30 years of Operational & Supply Chain experience, having lived in 6 and worked in 11 countries across Europe & Asia. Eric van Steen

He has over 25 years of experience across different industries, countries, cultures and functional disciplines. Eric is energetic, results driven and analytical with good influencing and relationship management skills, combines perseverance with creativity and commercial acumen and has a high work ethic and acts with integrity.

Prior to his current role, he is responsible for all Planning (incl. Eric leading a business transformation delivering reduction in logistics cost through network optimization and use of dual modal transportation, optimization of inventory (quality/quantity), improvement of customer service levels and asset utilization through regional IBP implementation, increase logistics safety and quality standards through policy/KPI setting and auditing, improve sustainability levels in relation to direct materials procurement and supplier management, drive digitalization across all supply chain processes.

Tom Woolhouse

Tom Woolhouse is currently the Head of Logistics and Industrial, Asia Pacific. Tom leads a holistic team with specialised sector expertise. Advising regional clients including occupiers, investors and developers on multi-country instructions, Tom oversees the growth of all service lines within the sector, including capital markets, landlord leasing, tenant representation, supply chain consulting and project and development services. In his present role, Tom also sits on JLL’s Global Industrial Board and Global Capital Markets Group.

Tom has circa 20 years of capital markets expertise in advising investors and developers on single assets, portfolios, joint ventures and equity raising within the logistics and industrial sector globally; and helping occupiers on utilising their covenants within capital markets to fund expansion and provide liquidity. Throughout his career, Tom has worked with a diverse range of global capital sources including institutions, private equity firms, property companies, high net worth individuals, REITs, developers and occupiers.

Tom was most recently a Senior Director at CBRE, leading the Industrial & Logistics Capital Markets Team in the UK. He advised clients on the acquisition, disposal, development, and funding of single assets and portfolios in the UK industrial and logistics market.

Luca Fichera

Luca Fichera is the Head of Supply Chain and Business Services for Asia, Oceania and Sub Saharan Africa. Nestlé is the world’s leading Nutrition, Health and Wellness Company with global revenues of CHF 84.3 billion in 2020. Nestlé was founded in 1866 by Henri Nestlé in Vevey, Switzerland, and employs around 280,000 people with factories and operations in almost every country in the world. In his current role, Luca is responsible for Supply Chain, IT and other Business Services for Zone AOA: CHF 20.7 billion turnover, 92 countries, 10 main business categories, 80 distribution centers. 

With a background of Supply Chain and Sales, Mr. Fichera moved to the Nestlé HQ in July 2019. He has worked with Nestlé in Europe, Asia Pacific, Oceania and South Asia in very diverse markets, cultures and business environments. He brings extensive operational experience in Procurement, Demand and Supply Planning, Logistics, Customer Service and Project Management (Performance Improvements, IT, HR, M&A). He joined Nestlé in Milan, Italy in 1997 as a management trainee and later moved to Asia taking increasing responsibilities in Operations. Luca has been Supply Chain Director in Vietnam, South Asia and the Philippines. During his assignment in South Asia, he was also the Chairman of a local joint venture operating in fresh milk collection. 

A native of Italy, Luca holds a degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University of Milan, Italy and undertook the Program for Executive Development (PED) with IMD, Lausanne to continuously upgrade professional skills.

Wendy Herrick

In 2015, Wendy was appointed to the position of VP Supply Chain US responsible for end to end Supply Chain integration, Supply Chain Digital Strategy and in-market business results.

Edward Elson Kosasih

Edward Elson Kosasih is a PhD student at the Cambridge Centre for Data-Driven Discovery and Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge. His research focuses on supply chain analytics and risk modelling using machine learning and network science. He is also a Student Investment Partner at Creator Fund. Edward used to work as a data scientist in Keysight Technologies and obtained his bachelor degree in electrical engineering from the National University of Singapore.

Fetch joined Cummins in 2018, coming from Caterpillar where she held a range of positions in Logistics, Manufacturing, Product Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development and business leadership over the course of 20 years. 

Bonnie is in-charge in leading the Global Supply Chain for Cummins’ distribution business segment and leading company-wide Supply Chain transformation for Cummins with the responsibility to implement Supply Chain Services operations globally and significantly improving the efficiency and effectiveness of supply chain processes.

Emer Cunningham

Emer Cunningham has been working in the pharmaceutical industry for over 20 years – and since 1 January 2019 as Vice President Internal Medicine Global Supply Chain – with experience in manufacturing, engineering, operational excellence and supply chain.

Her experience in operational excellence saw her gain extensive experience in value stream improvement of global products, project coaching, training delivery, and support for lean transformation. Furthermore, in product portfolio management she was responsible for strategic supply chain design and identified and executed cross-functional, strategic projects.

She has been with Pfizer for over 20 years in various roles. And in her current role for close to 2.5 years as Vice President Internal Medicine Global Supply Chain.

Fabrice THOMAS

Fabrice joined Agilent Technologies on Oct. ‘18, as Supply Chain Vice President. He is in charge of Strategic Procurement and Logistics with a team of 1000+ people with sites located in the United States, Denmark, Germany, China, Malaysia and Singapore. He joined Agilent Technologies, to lead the end-to-end Digital Transformation of the Supply Chain.

Over the past 20 years, he managed supply chain organizations in various industries such as Telecommunications, Railways and Robotics – across Europe, America, and Asia. Various positions held in the past were in Supply Chain, from Supplier Quality to Industrial Sourcing and Supply Chain Management. Current key interest is in the creation of business eco-systems around innovative multi-national companies, through the prism of Supply Chain, Procurement and Logistics.

He is very sensitive to new technologies. Notably about their impact on existing businesses, their consequences on ecosystems, on internal structures, people and organization

Fabrice graduated from Orsay University in Biotechnologies, holds a Masters Degree in Industrial Marketing from EM Lyon and an EMBA from HEC. In addition, he completed academic courses with certificates from IIMD (Bangalore), GSB (Cape Town) and more recently from Columbia University, on Digital Transformation.

Pascal Bouye is the Vice President Supply – Global Emerging Markets at Mars based in Singapore. Senior supply chain executive within the FMCG Industry with extensive international experience across all continents.

Pascal has been with the company for more than 20 years, having served in different leadership positions in manufacturing, supply chain and engineering, across Asia, Europe and North America. He is now in charge of Supply for Global Emerging Markets, which include Latin America, Middle East and Africa as well as Asia and Australia.
